I hope everyone takes the initiative today to advocate and support Global Handwashing Day. Below I have given you the link to the website so that you can participate accordingly. If you go to the website there is a short music video made by "The Wiggles" to endorse and celebrate Global Handwashing Day.
I don’t know if we can yet consider Global Handwashing Day a holiday, but it does have a song and so it is one step closer to becoming a fully recognized holiday. I know there are a few people who read this blog who would be happy to see a day on the calendar recognized just for washing hands. Washing hands leads to holding hands which leads to a peaceful world. In reality Global Handwashing Day is all about world peace and I support that.

Global Handwashing Day! Pah, who knew. Well, excellent. My favorite part was the theme song created by The Wiggles. One of my favorite bands as it were. Used to have a crush on the yellow guy... (oh dear did I admit to that in a comment?)

Thank you for shining a light on these often underestimated and even more often unknown ills. Diseases like pneumonia, diarrhea, and tuberculosis kill children in masses every day - and it's sad to know that a few simple hygienic actions could prevent so much death.
Lateef: Though my post was somewhat light-hearted I must say that I agree with you and echo the seriousness of the problems that you have mentioned. Many take for granted simple, mundane practices that save lives and many in the world don’t know about them. Education is the key to knowledge which in turn will bring about powerful results.
