"Turn and Face the Strain"

This is a great song worth remembering.

So is this one.
I heard this song several years ago as I watched a movie at school. The movie had no words but only music from Leonard Cohen with footage of Africa showing on the screen. The footage was of a variety of places both beautiful and wasted. I don’t know the name of the movie but it appeared to be made in the late 60’s early 70’s. I had never heard of Leonard Cohen or his music but really appreciated the film and how it told its story. When I was in Portland earlier this year the lyrics from this song were written on the wall of the hotel where I stayed. I stood and read them all and knew that I had read or heard them before. As I read the words I was so impressed by them that I took pictures of them so I could remember them and find their source. So here it is. I like this version with Judy Collins better then Cohen by himself. Judy Collins is classic and has such a pure voice.

Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah happens to be one of my favorite songs.

This is a good one. I first heard this song when I was a little girl. Good times.

I find this all very, very fascinating! Isn't it strange how once you learn about something, suddenly everyone is talking about it or you see it everywhere? On my iPod I have the song Hallelujah sung by a woman. Katie something, I think. (This is Campus Plaza Katie, by the way. No last names of course.) On Wednesday, the CEO of the company I work for was playing the same Hallelujah song, but sung by a man. I asked who the man was, and Christopher (CEO) told me Leonard Cohen. I'd never heard of him before. But now I have and that's how I knew who the man was in your blog. I just love life! And I really like your bathroom rug.
