As I continued down the street I saw a sign that said "this is the house were Lincoln died." I thought that Lincoln died in a theater not a house. As I continued to look at the sign and the building it was attached to I saw people walking up the stairs in a line with a tour guide leading them. Thinking there must be something legitimate to the building and not sure what to think about the house I looked around the street to see if a theater was near by. Sure enough directly across the street was Ford's Theater where Lincoln was shot and then he was brought to the house and later died there. At this point I wanted to take a picture of the historical place but didn't want to seem like a tourist, but I was in a tourist area with lots of tourists around; I could blend in for a minute. So here are my non-tourist pictures.
This is Ford's Theater.
This is the house directly across the street from Ford's Theater where Lincoln died.
A little further down the street is the J. Edger Hoover building otherwise known as the FBI building. Did you know that this year celebrates the 100th birthday of the FBI. I think the whole building is made out of concrete, at least that is what is looked like.

The pencil thing definitely makes her a tourist...but I think you're still safe.
All I know is that when I come to visit you, I will definitely be taking pictures like a tourist. But I want to be in all the pictures too - otherwise I may forget I even went.
What is it about tourists that make them so obnoxious? Nice pictures by they way... I think they are the same qualities that make obnoxious music fans obnoxious. I was thinking the other day, if I went to a Switchfoot concert, if I would ask for an autograph. In some ways it seems so...so...stupid, asking someone to sign your shoe. And you know they get asked over and over and over and over again. But there is a part of me that would want my shoe signed. huh. Glad to hear you didn't buy a pencil.
